Jenis-jenis Drama

a. Drama Tragedi
Cerita drama yang termasuk jenis ini adalah cerita yang berakhir dengan duka lara atau kematian. Contoh film yang termasuk jenis ini di antaranya Romeo dan Juliet atau Ghost. Sementara contoh FTV misteri yang termasuk dalam jenis ini misalnya Makhluk Tengah Malam yang ending-nya bercerita tentang si istri yang melahirkan bayi genderuwo. Cerita ini bukan berakhir dengan kematian, tapi kekecewaan atau kesedihan. Oleh karena itu, cerita Makhluk Tengah Malam dapat digolongkan ke dalam jenis drama tragedi.

b. Drama Komedi
1. Komedi Situasi, cerita lucu yang kelucuannya bukan berasal dari para pemain,
melainkan karena situasinya. Contoh drama jenis ini antara lain Sister Act dan
Si Kabayan. Sementara contoh sinetron yang termasuk dalam jenis ini antara lain
Kawin Gantung, Bajaj Bajuri, dan Kecil-Kecil Jadi Manten.
2. Komedi Slapstic, cerita lucu yang diciptakan dengan adegan menyakiti para
pemainnya. Misalnya, saat di kelas terjadi kegaduhan karena sang guru belum
datang. Kemudian teman yang “culun” digoda teman yang lain dengan menulisi
pipinya menggunakan spidol. Contoh film komedi slapstic ini di antaranya The
Mask dan Tarzan.
3. Komedi Satire, cerita lucu yang penuh sindiran tajam. Beberapa film yang
termasuk jenis ini adalah Om Pasikom dan Semua Gara-Gara Ginah. Sementara contoh
sinetronnya adalah Wong Cilik.
4. Komedi Farce, cerita lucu yang bersifat dagelan, sengaja menciptakan kelucuan
kelucuan dengan dialog dan gerak laku lucu. Beberapa tayangan televisi yang
termasuk jenis ini adalah Srimulat, Toples, Ba-sho, Ngelaba, dan lain sebagainya.

c. Drama Misteri
1. Kriminal, misteri yang sangat terasa unsur keteganyannya atau suspense dan
biasanya menceritakan seputar kasus pembunuhan. Si pelaku biasanya akan menjadi
semacam misteri karena penulis skenario memerkuat alibinya. Sering kali dalam
cerita jenis ini beberapa tokoh bayangan dimasukkan untuk mengecoh penonton.
2. Horor, misteri yang bercerita tentang hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan roh halus.
3. Mistik, misteri yang bercerita tentang hal-hal yang bersifat klenik atau unsur
ghaib.

d. Drama Laga/ Action
1. Modern, cerita drama yang lebih banyak menampilkan adegan perkelahian atau
pertempuran, namun dikemas dalam setting yang modern. Contoh jenis sinetron ini
misalnya Deru Debu, Gejolak Jiwa, dan Raja Jalanan.
2. Tradisional, cerita drama yang juga menampilkan adegan laga, namun dikemas
secara tradisional. Beberapa sinetron yang termasuk jenis ini antara lain
Misteri Gunung Merapi, Angling Dharma, Jaka Tingkir, dan Wali Songo.
Untuk jenis drama laga ini biasanya skenario tidak banyak memakai dialog
panjang, tidak seperti skenario drama tragedi atau melodrama yang kekuatannya
terletak pada dialog. Jenis ini lebih banyak mengandalkan action sebagai daya
tarik tontonannya. Penontonnya bisa merasakan semangat ketika menonton film ini.

e. Melodrama
Skenario jenis ini bersifat sentimental dan melankolis. Ceritanya cenderung terkesan mendayu-dayu dan mendramatisir kesedihan. Emosi penonton dipancing untuk merasa iba pada tokoh protagonis. Penulis skenario cerita jenis ini jangan terjebak untuk membuat alur yang lambat. Konflik harus tetap runtun dan padat. Justru dengan konflik yang bertubi-tubi pada si tokoh akan semakin membuat penonton merasa kasihan dan bersimpati pada penderitanya. Contoh sinetron jenis ini antara lain Bidadari, Menggapai Bintang, dan Chanda.

f. Drama Sejarah
Drama sejarah adalah cerita jenis drama yang menampilkan kisah-kisah sejarah masa lalu, baik tokoh maupun peristiwanya. Contoh film yang bercerita tentang peristiwa sejarah antara lain November 1828, G-30-S/PKI, Soerabaya ’45, Janur Kuning, atau Serangan Fajar. Sementara kisah yang menceritakan sejarah tapi lebih ditekankan pada tokohnya antara lain Tjoet Njak Dhien, Wali Songo, dan R.A. Kartini.
